And now… The history of the Roman Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit in Valga.

We want to start our tour through history with the turn of the last century, that is, around the year 1904. At that time, Estonia was under Russian domination and the Russian Orthodox where a majority in the Southern lands. Nevertheless, there lived in Valga a good number of Polish who, always faithful to the Roman Holy Catholic Church, decided to build a church for them. Here we have at our disposal some well preserved pictures of the time, which show the field where after would stand the temple…

… a big procession…

… the blessing of the first stone…

… people celebrating the sacraments in the as yet not finished Church…

… And the temple as it was in the time of its splendor.

For the moment, we are going to leave this historical tour here, but we are going to continue our time travel in the next edition of the History of the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit in Valga, Estonia
