Roman Catholic Church of Valga

Celebrates

2000 Years of Christianity!!!

And in what way!!! We just came back from our Historical First Jubilee Pilgrimage to Rome!!! We want to share with all our friends and benefactors this great moment in the History of the Church of Estonia, so we invite all of you to have a look into our News Section.

And now, let's come back to the rebuilding of the church. The amount of money required to finish the works is of 500,000.00 USD, and, although we are still short of reaching the amount needed, we have already commissioned the plans to the architects. As soon as they finish them, we will start the works, with God's help. We thank all our benefactors, and we assure them of all our prayers for their well being and success in all their endeavours, and of course, that they may attain peaceful holy lives. We are still short of money for this work of the rebuilding of the church, so all your donations are gratefully accepted. If you feel the call of the Holy Spirit to help us in this work of evangelisation (and the hand of the Lord is not short to repay every good work with a hundred per one reward), we are available at kirik.valga@neti.ee, where you can always contact us. And Now…The News

And Now… The protagonists…

The real protagonist in this fantastic work of spreading the Good News of Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Holy Spirit, under whose protection we have placed this local Church of Valga… We have also placed this work of evangelisation under the auspices of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God and privileged Temple of the Holy Spirit. Then there are the people: Sofia, almost a hundred (94) years old, by whose efforts it was that the edifice of the Church was not destroyed in soviet times. There are more than fifty people who come almost every Sunday to mass, among them many youth, so much so that the little chapel we prepared inside the rectory is not anymore enough to contain the people; that is one of the reasons we are about to rebuild the Church. There are some former prostitutes and alcoholics who are listening every Sunday the Good News, and transforming their lives. They remind us which is the mission of the Church, that of the Lord: to look for the lost sheep, to save what is lost. And there is also Fr. Alfonso di Giovanni, an Italian priest formed in the "Redemptoris Mater" Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary of Newark, New Jersey, whom Archbishop Theodore McCarrick of Newark generously lent to these mission lands. Thank you, Archbishop McCarrick!
